FARM FOLK BOOKS

Farm Folk books, written by John Breach, are illustrated by Kate Chitham. The first three titles in the Farm Folk Books series were published in 1984 - there are currently ten titles available.

 The idea for the stories came when John’s son Peter wanted one of his favourite stories read to him early one morning. John instead suggested that, as they lived on a farm, he would make up a special story for Peter about life on a farm. As a result, Farmer Forage and the Farm Folk were born! Each book which has 32 pages - 16 of which have full-colour illustrations deals with life on and around a modern mixed farm. All stories have a "helping hand" moral. Farm Folk books are ideal as bedtime stories.

The first three titles:

• Open Day at Woodfields Farm
• Harvey Harvester to the Rescue
• The Weathercock

were published in 1984, followed in 1985 by:

• Trevor Tractor Saves the Day
• Farmer Forage goes to Market
• An Extra Load for Lloyd Lorry

In 1987 four more titles were published:

• Trevor Tractor gets a Bee in his Bonnet
• The Farm Folk make a Twin Rescue
• The Forage Family goes to the Fair
• The Farm Folk save the Corn Crop
